DTS8 brings Yunnan coffee to N. America

ARABICA green beans grown in Yunnan Province have reached North American markets through DTS8 Coffee Company, Ltd., a purveyor of gourmet roasted coffee in China. Sold through distribution channels, Yunnan coffee beans are used by Starbucks in its South of the Clouds brand of roasted coffee blend and by Nestlé in certain products, according to DTS8 chairman Sean Tan. The beans are cultivated in plantations with volcanic soils at altitudes ranging from 1,000 to 1,800 metres, in Yunnan’s Simao, Jinghong, Xishuangbanna, Mangshi and Baoshan regions.
