FROM 2008 to 2013, non-oil trade between Dubai and African countries surged 141%, from AED 37.9 billion to AED 91.3 billion, according to the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Governments in both Dubai and Africa are taking care to maintain ideal relations, and at the second Africa Global Business Forum initiated by the Dubai Chamber, business partnerships and opportunities will once again be discussed in the open by African heads of state, Ministers, CEOs operating globally, heads of private banks, sovereign wealth funds and private equity firms.
The Africa Global Business Forum takes place from 1-2 October at the Atlantis, The Palm in Dubai. Its content has been developed by The Economist Events and under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice-President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai. Continuing discussions from the previous event, it will focus on business partnerships and opportunities between Dubai and Africa.
