DuPont Packaging & Industrial Polymers (P&IP) and Indofood CBP, a leading packaged food producer in Indonesia, discussed market trends and innovative solutions to address food packaging needs at a recent seminar held in Jakarta. More than 40 customers who are brand owners of different food industry segments attended the seminar.
“P&IP offers an extensive mix of advanced materials and technologies that enable flexible packaging to address challenges such as enhancing functionality and cost effectiveness, and delighting consumers,” said Ju II Cha, regional packaging marketing segment leader, DuPont P&IP, Asia Pacific. “Our offerings can help protect packaged food with better seal performance and UV protection, helping to reduce food waste.”
In addition to food safety and security, participants also discussed sustainability in the packaging industry.
“Sustainability is not an end state but a continuous improvement process,” said Norman Cook, regional director, ASEAN, DuPont P&IP. “The ultimate goal is to improve the long-term safety and quality for people and the environment.”
Indonesia's packaged food market has been growing over the last few years and was ranked the fastest growing market for packaged food in ASEAN in 2011 with retail value worth over $22 billion.
