DuPont Nutrition & Health increases prices for hydrocolloids

STEEP production costs have forced DuPont to raise prices on its Grindsted hydrocolloid range from the Danisco ingredient portfolio. The new pricing is scheduled to take effect on November 1, 2012 or when contracts are renewed. Whilst the company is focused on achieving productivity and cost reductions, these have not been able to compensate for significant increases in raw material, energy and fuel costs.

Grindsted includes functional products such as alginate, carrageenan, cellulose gum (CMC), guar gum, locust bean gum, microcrystalline cellulose (MCC), pectin and xanthan gum as well as customized solutions of hydrocolloids, emulsifiers and enzymes.
