Dynamic diversity at Taiwan's biggest plastics show

Taiwan's machinery industry has been able to survive the worst of the global economic crunch with a resilience that has been the result of years of technology upgrade strengthened by a winning industry network. The sector has rallied forward sealing its special position in the economy and putting Taiwan in the global map for plastics & rubber machinery. Thus, Taipei Plas 2010, also known as the 2010 Taipei International Plastics & Rubber Industry Show, is a well-attended biennial event and has ranked among the top three plastics and rubber shows in Asia. Organised by Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) and Taiwan Association of Machinery Industry (TAMI), this year's edition scheduled on 5-9 March at the TWTC Nangang Exhibition Hall is expected to gather 450 local and foreign exhibitors to occupy 2,500 booths. "The economic crisis has affected exhibitions around the world and this year's Taipei Plas is no exception. But interestingly, we have better response from exhibitors this year in terms of product promotion and networking. More than 2,500 foreign visitors and 17,500 domestic business visitors are projected to turn up this year to witness the vast range of plastic processing machines, injection moulding machines, blow moulding machines, extruders, printing machines, auxiliary equipment, moulds & dies, parts & accessories, raw material,semi-finished & finished products, and related items. "The machinery sector has always been the strength of the Taiwanese plastics and rubber industry. Therefore,this year's exhibition is centered on the procurement of top-quality plastics and rubber machinery, and turnkey solutions for the plastics and rubber industry, making the exhibition a not-to-be-missed event for buyers," Ms. Gin-Huey adds.

The series of seminars will tackle the innovations in the plastics and rubber industry in Asia with the presence of industry experts to discuss the latest in environment-friendly material section and processing applications,energy-saving technologies for plastics injection and hydraulic machines, the trends in high-performance materials and multifunction biomass composites.
