ELSEVIER, a world-leading provider of scientific, technical and medical information products and services, announces it has added Annals of Medicine and Surgery (AMS), an online-only, open access journal devoted to physicians and surgeons in training, to its medical journal portfolio. AMS publishes original, peer-reviewed research articles, as well as review articles, commentaries, quality improvement projects, case reports, and other short communications.
Dr Riaz Agha, founder, managing and executive editor of the International Journal of Surgery, will serve as editor-in-chief of AMS. He is part of the Web Committee for the World Association of Medical Editors and the Section of Plastic Surgery at the Royal Society of Medicine. "Our aim for Annals of Medicine and Surgery, is to engage, develop and harness the talents of those in medical training by giving them a modern, efficient, dynamic, and international open access journal as a vehicle for their scholarly and intellectual output," said Dr Agha. "AMS will grow and develop with its readers and authors. We will adapt and be nimble and flexible to the needs and wants of those we serve."
