CUYAHOGA FALLS, OH – Emerald Kalama Chemical, a division of Emerald Performance Materials, announced that it has added cinnamic alcohol to its rapidly growing flavor and fragrance product line. The new product provides complex spicy, balsamic and floral fragrance notes to fragrances, personal care products and various food and beverages. Kalama’s cinnamic alcohol is certified to the requirements of the United States Food Chemicals Codex (FCC). Commercial scale production recently commenced after rigorous process validation, quality control and odor panel evaluations.
“The addition of cinnamic alcohol to our line is in direct response to customer demand,” stated Peter Fielder, vice president and general manager of the flavor and fragrance business for Emerald Kalama Chemical. “Like our other nature-identical flavor and fragrance ingredients, the new cinnamic alcohol meets the highest standards for consistency and has the added benefit of meeting FCC certification requirements, which are critical to food and beverage manufacturers.”
Kalama cinnamic alcohol is produced at the company’s Kalama, Washington (US) facility, where the full portfolio of flavor and fragrance ingredients based on benzaldehyde are also manufactured. The GMP-compliant process at Kalama, Washington are certified to the latest ISO:9001 and ISO:14001 standards, which covers quality and environmental management systems related to the manufacturing and distribution of its products.
