A strong commitment towards environment protection has brought Yann Bang Electrical Machinery Co., Ltd. in a league above the rest in a highly dynamic industry. Mr. Ban-Chih Wang, President, highlights the company's achievements in product development. IRNE: How would you describe Yann Bang's products today? Ban-Chih: With the focus on environment protection in recent years, numerous manufacturers in the plastics and rubber industry have devoted much efforts and resources into developing products that are capable of saving energy while reducing carbon footprint. Yann Bang is one of them and our products - which are now sold in over 70 countries around the world - were developed by a competent R&D team that has also found that the use of the vacuum principle in drying plastic is more efficient. It can save energy, save time, reduce the defect rate and enhance the drying effect. If it is applied in manufacturing equipment, it will be the best tool to save on costs and meet the trends towards environment friendly products. IRNE: How do these products benefit the plastics processors and your customers? Ban-Chih: In 2009, Yann Bang's "Vacuum Dehumidifying Dryer " received the confirmation of "CITD" from Industrial Development Bureau, Ministry of Economic Affairs in Taiwan and was acclaimed "2009 Taiwan Symbol Of Excellence Winner" to bring Taiwan's plastic and rubber machinery into a new area of excellence. The Vacuum Dehumidifying Dryer can ensure efficient drying and save drying time by as much as 83%, increase production, save energy by 60%, and reduce carbon emission 90%. This product was developed in 1990 and so far has won the 3rd and 4th "Golden Dragon Award" and received patents and CE certification. In 2006, we started reforming the dehumidifying dryer into 3-in-1 dehumidifying dryer by integrating hopper dryer, autoloader and to save more space. IRNE: On what basis are you launching new products? Ban-Chih: The United States, Germany, Japan and other countries have been researching on biodegradable plastic materials since the 1970s. It is a known fact that biodegradable material is currently the most important product for the plastics market. The production process for biodegradable material, however, is different from traditional one. Because of this, Yann Bang would increase new machinery and update quality to save cost for the customer. IRNE: What would be the special role played by your production facilities in this quest for efficiency? Ban-Chih: Yann Bang has two plants, one in Taiwan and another in Guangdong (Mainland China). Our facilities supply both local and international markets, and we our distributors/agents adhere to good ethics and guarantee that the equipment will last longer with spare parts and after-sales services readily available.
