The staying power of a machinery manufacturer lies on its ability to implement advanced management concepts and adapt to changing trends in technologies and processes. In this aspect, Guangdong Sunslux Forstar Precision Machine Co., Ltd (Forstar) has achieved all the advantages that render it highly capable of meeting varying market demands locally and internationally. Its foray into the Middle East and African markets is one of its strategies to explore new markets for its products.
Founded in 2007 in China, Forstar is a part of the Sunslux Group, and this enables Forstar to take advantage of the advanced management concepts and strong resources network of the Sunslux Group. The company can manufacture injection moulding machines with a clamping force below 2,650 tonnes, and at the same time has advanced inspection devices manufactured abroad.

To lay a solid foundation for the company to grow into a high-tech organisation with “expertise services and diversified products”, the Sunslux Group made huge investment to acquire 130 mu (about 86,710 m2) land in Green Hill Lake Industrial Park in Kaiping City for the expansion of Forstar and the company is expected to move into the new factory by 2013. According to Michael Lau, Sales Director of Forstar’s Overseas Sales Department: “the planned annual output in the new site is over 3,000, and more advanced processing and manufacturing devices will be introduced. Some parts will also be produced in the new site so as to more effectively guarantee the product quality, improve the competitiveness, and the capability for manufacturing equipment.” In addition, large products will be developed, and will be optimised so that these machines can be used in a wide range of applications, for example, for manufacturing auto parts, household appliances, and auto bumpers.
High-precision machines
For its various international markets, Forstar has been focusing on the manufacture of high-precision toggle-type energy saving moulding machines with variable pump, as well as servo type ultra energy-saving precision injection moulding machines, high speed stable precision moulding machines, and special machines for uPVC and PET preform production. The company provides a wide range of moulding machines in accordance with the requirements on end-products by processors. “Our products are sold to countries like Russia, Hungary, Turkey, Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, Thailand, Vietnam, Argentina, Iran, Malaysia, India and South Africa, and our export volume has been promising as export now accounts for about 30% of company sales. In the future, we hope to increase our overseas sales to about 50% of the total,” according to Mr. Lau. The company is now targeting to expand its markets in China, Eastern Europe, Russia, the Middle East and Africa, and South America, seeing that the markets in these regions are favouring the use of advanced machinery.
Being highly efficient energy-saving and environment-friendly precision moulding machines specially developed by the company, the FST servo series combines all the benefits of conventional hydraulic moulding machines and fully electric injection moulding machines, and lead the new trends in the future development of injection moulding machines. “Compared to conventional hydraulic power control systems, our servo type injection moulding machines have low noise, and is a stable machine platform known for energy-saving performance and high injection precision,” according to Mr. Lau.
In ideal operating conditions, up to 40%-80% energy can be saved as compared to conventional hydraulic power control system, whilst the use of servo motor for precision closNike
