During a recent interview with International Metalworking News - Middle East, Mr. Mudreka Abdul Hussain, Operations Manager, Vogue Steel Factory LLC shared his vision about the growth and prospects of the company, the overall potential of the region and opportunities going ahead.
IMNE: What products and services do Vogue Steel Factory LLC specialise in?

MUDREKA: Vogue Steel specialises in structural steel fabrication. We specialise in heavy steel structures, electric overhead travelling cranes and have recently completed jobs for specialised curtain walling system installation for prestigious projects like ADNEC Tower, Al Muneera and Abu Dhabi Financial Centre.
Vogue Steel holds expertise in steel fabrication and is well-known as a "Specialist Installer for Curtain Walling Systems" in UAE.
We offer complete customised solutions to our clients, which include design, installation, and fabrication of the product with on-site customer support. Additionally, we are designated agents for overhead cranes, which we commission out to clients on a need basis.
IMNE: How extensive is your network in terms of customers and suppliers? Do you procure raw materials locally?
MUDREKA: Our major clientele is based in UAE, predominantly Abu Dhabi. We did some fabrication projects for our clients in Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Muscat but on an ad hoc basis. Since we actively participate in shows and exhibitions, we generally receive a lot of queries from clients across the GCC region. Depending on the volume of projects in the future, we would be keen to set up a small office in the region.
On occasions, we do contact veteran suppliers in countries like Turkey and Spain - for raw material procurement - if the project specifications warrant it but most of the time, our raw materials come from local suppliers here. This is not only time-effective but also helps manage and control our transportation and overall costs.
IMNE: Are the products manufactured locally in United Arab Emirates?
MUDREKA: Yes. We run a centralised system with our head office and two factories operating in the Sharjah emirate with a workforce of 350+ employees, labourers inclusive. Of the two factories, one is deployed for steel structures and the other for aluminium and stainless steel fabrication.
Since our products are manufactured locally, we maintain strict levels of quality to ensure product excellence. We have a quality manager who is mandated to ensure adherence to all quality procedure and standards. Additionally, we are in the process of getting an ISO: 9001 certification.
IMNE: Global recession has hit all industry verticals. How has Vogue Steel Factory LLC weathered this financial crunch?
MUDREKA: As a company, we did experience considerable slowdown in business activity and were gravely impacted by the recession as the market turned lucrative for the customers. There were fewer projects to furnish and more suppliers, so the clients had more options to choose from, hence were very selective. We faced relative liquidity issues as well since our cash cycles were impacted.
"Vogue is dedicated to specialised jobs. We are keen to deliver projects which are complex in nature and hold considerable engineering scope. Having said that, we deliver seamless steel fabrication assignments too but as a company, we hold the necessary manpower, expertise, machinery and technology to take on complex projects"
