The European Council decided to spread anti-dumping measures toward molybdenum wire to Malaysia, according to European Commission anti-circumvention investigation.
In 2010, the EU began to formally charge 64.3% of the final anti-dumping duties on China's molybdenum wire products. In April, 2011, the EU industrial organisation applied to the European Commission anti-circumvention, and accused China involved products of transiting to European Union through Malaysia and Switzerland, and asked for investigation on the molybdenum wire products from Malaysia and Switzerland.
After investigation, the EU consider that since taking measures against Chinese products in 2010, there was a significant reduction on China involved products exporting to the EU. In the same time, molybdenum wire products that China exporting to the EU through Malaysia and to Malaysia has a corresponding increase. Therefore, the decision on the product concerned imported from Malaysia, regardless of whether claims originating in Malaysia, 64.3% are levied anti-dumping duty.
