Part of the Atlas Group, one of the largest and most diverse business conglomerates in the subcontinent, Atlas Plastic has celebrated 32 years of quality, standardisation and service provision. International Plastics News-Middle East (IRNE) sat down with Mr.S.M.Jalaluddin, Atlas Plastic Industries' General Manager, who shared the company and its offerings, the regional market conditions and his aspirations to expand into prospective markets. IRNE: What are Atlas Plastic Industries LLC's major products? Jalaluddin: Atlas Plastic Industries LLC is a certified manufacturer of UPVC pipes for sewer drain, drainage and pressure pipes for water supply purpose. We manufacture UPVC pressure pipes for cold potable water, soil and waste pipes, soil and ventilating pipes, underground drainage pipes, gravity sewer pipes and pipe ducts for electrical and telephone cables. Additionally, we produce LDPE pipes for house water connections, water main schemes, sprinkler and drip irrigation systems, laboratories, industrial process lines, agricultural piping and many other products for public utilities. The UPVC pipes that we manufacture are of considerably high mechanical strength in comparison to other plastics pipes and fittings. They are lightweight, storable and transportable with relative ease and convenient to install. Also, the UPVC pipes are corrosion resistant so regular acid or alkaline soil cannot adversely affect the product and it is favourable to the human skin. Our pipes will not damage or deteriorate from bacterial, fungal or other micro-organic invasions. More so, the pipes comprise of thermoplastic material hence the physical attributes do not alter with temperature variation. IRNE: Being in the industry for more than 30 years, what unique selling point or strategy has Atlas Plastic adopted? Jalaluddin: The management at Atlas Plastic Industries has created unprecedented service standards since its inception. The vision was led by the founder Mr. Sheikh Zafar Hussain - a business veteran-and today, such vision is being taken forward by the Managing Director Mr. Khurram Zafar. Since inception, prompt service and customer satisfaction have been the two most important aspects of our service history.
