On display will be industry-leading Exceed? and Enable? metallocene polyethylene (mPE) resins and Vistamaxx? propylene-based elastomer (PBE) which can deliver innovation and potential sustainability opportunities for a range of films including collation shrink, food packaging, cast stretch and stretch hood packaging, heavy duty sacks and agricultural applications.
Exceed mPE resins offer excellent performance by providing a balance of film toughness and strength, outstanding film impact resistance, and exceptional sealing performance. These properties may deliver film downgauging opportunities that can lead to reduced packaging weight for less material use and lower transportation costs compared to conventional LLDPE resins. Film breakage can be reduced resulting in fewer end-of-line packaging shut-downs. Exceed mPE resins also provide dazzling optical properties for high clarity and eye-catching packaging.
Enable mPE resins provide a combination of film processing and higher alpha olefin (HAO) performance benefits in a single resin. Converters can benefit from more stable operations, improved film line output and simpler resin sourcing. Extruding at lower melt temperatures, Enable mPE resins can save energy and, allow faster processing, and may increase output by up to 20 percent. Enhanced film toughness may make downgauging possible which, in turn, can reduce weight, material use and transportation costs compared to LLDPE-rich blends.
Vistamaxx PBE creates new possibilities for a range of flexible film, extrusion coating and lamination applications. It can be used to tailor, enhance and balance a combination of properties - including adhesion, cling, elasticity, sealability, softness, toughness and transparency - in polyethylene film and propylene formulations to meet application needs. As a result, higher levels of performance, processing efficiencies and lower total cost solutions may be achieved. Packaging converters can benefit from low seal initiation temperatures and higher hot tack to speedup packaging lines for more efficient output and lower energy consumption. They can also benefit from excellent adhesion properties and high bond strength to produce stronger packaging for downgauging opportunities which may reduce weight, material use by up to 20 percent and transportation costs.
