Face mills for heavy duty applications

The new T490 FLN-22ST 90° face mills were designed for heavy machining and tough cutting conditions, especially next to shoulders or fixture constraints. The new cutters carry the peripherally ground T490 LNHT 2212-PNTR tangentially clamped inserts with 4 helical cutting edges that are mounted in the pockets with seats that will protect the tool even in case of insert breakage. The insert features a positive rake face and 1.2 mm corner radii. These durable tools can be used for heavy duty milling mainly on steel, stainless steel and cast iron. They can machine up to 21 mm D.O.C.  In the initial stage, the cutters will be available in regular pitch configuration, in a diameter range of 125-200mm.
