The Schaeffler Group is making an important contribution to increasing energy efficiency in household appliances with a rolling bearing specially developed for the bearing supports of refrigerating compressors. The FAG axial ball bearing is specially matched to the bearing supports of eccentric shafts in refrigerating compressors. It replaces the plain bearings usually used on this mounting location and cuts the energy consumption of the entire compressor by up to five percent. The energy-efficiency rating of the compressor can be improved by one class by using this energyefficient bearing. The FAG axial ball bearing is available in four different types that can be combined freely. Both bearing washers are available with or without raceways and cages can be supplied either made of plastic or sheet steel. All materials are matched to the environmental conditions. They are particularly compatible with coolants and resistant to varying temperatures.
