Faro brings latest FaroArm product line

FARO will bring to CIMES 2012 some of its most popular portable coordinate measuring machines (CMMs). Representing its suite of metrology solutions is the FARO Edge, the latest generation of the FaroArm product line.

The Edge improves production, quality, and reverse engineering processes by rapidly verifying or scanning parts with confidence and accuracy. As the first ever portable CMM with an integrated personal measurement assistant, its built-in touchscreen and on-board operating system revolutionizes portable metrology by providing stand-alone basic measurement capability.

Designed with the customers' input and built with FARO's experience, the new Arm offers unparalleled simplicity for the user while maintaining all the existing benefits of a FaroArm. Both a contact and non-contact measurement tool, the Edge has the ability to perform hard-probe measurements of simple point variations, as well as laser scan sections for larger volumes of data.

Smart Sensor Technology – Improved sensors warn against excessive external loads, correct for thermal variations, and detect possible setup problems.
