Faro unveils new 3D metrology software

Leading global 3D measurement, imaging and realization technology provider Faro Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ: FARO) has recently introduced the CAM2 (R) Measure 10.5.

The latest software for the FaroArm (R), Faro (R) Laser ScanArm (R), and Faro Laser Tracker, the CAM2 Measure 10.5 enables users to scan large objects seamlessly and with greater speed and accuracy, allowing for faster completion of 3D scanning jobs. It can connect multiple 3D measurement devices within the same coordinate system and simultaneously scan into a single seat of software on one computer.  

Users can use the product’s advanced Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) for streamlined analysis and visual reporting. The feature allows part inspection to be displayed similar to a print for easier visualization and part quality determination, eliminating the need for a sequential look of each feature to come up with the same determination.

The CAM2 Measure 10.5 also enables users to program data analysis to occur automatically after measurements have been taken, resulting in automated repeat inspections that help enhance workflow efficiencies. This likewise cuts required training time and operator error risks while speeding up job completion.

The software’s expanded point cloud capacity enables storage of over 20 times more data than previous versions at a faster processing speed. Its ability to scan trimmed edges easily from materials such as sheet metal eliminates the need to collect hard-probed measurements on part edges.
