At CHINAPLAS 2014, the Brückner Maschinenbau’s exhibit responds to rising demand for innovative specialty films. The company’s film stretching lines have been serving the growing requirements of customers in China’s packaging industry. “We view China as our largest market to date and the country’s various industries have created demand for our film stretching technology,” according to Karlheinz Weinmann, Head of the Corporate Communications at Brückner Maschinenbau.
Aside from specialty films, the demand for commodity films in China is still strong. Brückner’s high yield unique stretching lines offer the highest productivity within the industry. Up to 10.4m working width, 525 m/min. speed and an annual output of over 55,000 tonnes enable film producers to benefit from reduce production costs and profitability.

For Brückner, innovations will continue and in film production, there is still much room for growth and development. “Upcoming trends point to more demand for innovative oriented specialty films in packaging as well as technical applications, which we have been responding to,” Weinmann explains.
New markets exhibit high growth rates which are mostly driven by rising consumer demand in China. According to Weinmann, Chinese manufacturers have responded well to Brückner’s production lines for high-barrier BOPP films in 5, 7, or 9 layers. The company’s BOPET lines enable the production of various optical applications up to 400μm. The simultaneous LISIM technology has been developed for films with very specific and adjustable properties, such as for thinnest BOPP and BOPET capacitor films below 3μm as well as finest quality BOPA film and others.
“Our other dedicated line concepts aim to address the growing market for photovoltaic applications sheet such as UV-resistant solar back sheet,” according to Weinmann. The company also offers the latest production lines with patented EVAPORE process for efficient and large volume production of battery separator film for 3C and EV applications.
