Mr. Lee Wai Yip is the General Manager of Hurco (S.E.Asia) Pte. Ltd.  He says when it comes to building a machine, Hurco is focusing on all aspects, not just on mechanical. Mr. Lee has plans to expand distributorship in Southeast Asia.  Hurco is also actively organizing open houses, demonstrations and technical seminars in Vietnam, Indonesia and Thailand.  Hurco’s machines are flexible in the ease of use for various industries.

He says that distributors play a major role as a sales channel.  Distributors can counter the consequences of economic cyclical upheavals, as there is no time lag between set up and being operational.  Distributors also have the in-depth local knowledge and established presence.  This leaves Hurco to concentrate on its core strengths.

Regarding his management philosophy, Mr. Lee believes in motivating the best performance out of his staff by nurturing and empowering them. 

On display at the booth is the VMX24HSi high performance vertical machining center.  The VMX series is precise, fast and accurate.  The performance and flexibility of the VMX series is so broad, it spans all industries and shop sizes.  It offers high torque, fast feed rates and heavy rigid frame.  The series is known for its huge work cube (50% larger on average than competitive models) that lets users schedule a wider variety of work.
