FHA 2014 goes beyond expectations

THE REGION’s largest biennial food and hospitality trade show, Food&HotelAsia 2014 (FHA), has set new records in size and activities. The fair, which took place from 8-11 April 2014 at the Singapore Expo saw 3,213 exhibitors and drew a crowd of 64,826 attendees, with nearly half coming from overseas. Most exhibitors said they have joined the show to tap the growing middle class in Asia, which is forecast to account for more than 80% of the population by 2030. In Singapore alone, food trade with neighbouring countries has reached S$13.0 billion in 2013. Exhibitors at Wines&SpiritsAsia (WSA), which ran concurrent with FHA, said they are hoping to expand their foothold in Asia where the market for alcoholic beverages is growing by 25%. Organised by the Singapore Exhibition Services, the fairs return on 12-15 April 2016.
