FIA names new exec director

BEGINNING 1 April 2016, Matt Kovac officially takes on the role as Executive Director at Food Industry Asia (FIA), an organization established by food and beverage companies in 2010 to “promote sustainable growth and support regional policies to deliver harmonized results.”

According to an FIA news bulletin, Mr Kovac joined the organization as Policy Director in 2014 where he focused on policy and advocacy activities. From November 2015, he acted as interim Executive Director. From today, he will be involved in policy and regulatory developments in health and nutrition, food safety and harmonization of standards to promote trade.

Before joining FIA, Mr Kovac was the Advocacy Director at CropLife Asia. He has a background in journalism and an MBA from the Lancaster University Management School in the UK.
