
Ing. Luca Morlotti is the Managing Director of Ficep Hong Kong. The company is a subsidiary of Ficep S.p.A of Northern Italy, one of the leading suppliers of structural steel and plate fabrication equipment in the world market during the past 10 years. He mentioned that Ficep currently controls approximately 75% of the world market for structural steel and plate processing systems. The company manufactures all their products in Italy and exports to all regions worldwide through subsidiaries and local partners or distributors. Since its beginnings, Ficep Hong Kong has sold over 250 CNC lines in South East Asia countries. The subsidiary is engaged in the manufacturing, sales, and service of new and old Ficep equipment.
Ficep Hong Kong is servicing the steel fabrication industry in Asia and providing products to general infrastructures sectors, including building constructions, bridge structures, lift cranes, as well as steel masts and towers. The company has appointed LVD Center as their local agent in Indonesia and they are co-exhibiting together in the Manufacturing Indonesia this time. He mentioned that is it very important to maintain good relations with your local partner, as well as good connections with the customer. They provide aftersales service to their customers globally to make sure all the requirements are taken care of.
He introduced their latest product series being displayed in their booth and already sold to various companies in the market, the RAPID Series Automatic CNC Drilling, Marking and Cutting Systems. The series ranges from RAPID 16T; 20T; 25T; and 35T. All Ficep machines are using the new generation CNC where PC, CNC and PNC are all integrated on a single board for maximum reliability. He further explained that this sophisticated software is in use to carry out challenging production capacity calculations based on projects requirements and layout proposals, which enables them to study the optimal solution for each type of customer.
Mr. Luca stated that the vast proportion of the ASEAN region, especially Indonesia with almost 40% share of the GDP makes it a very promising place for their company and right now the timing is right to further increase its manufacturing capabilities. He described that Ficep is well-introduced in the Indonesian market. They invited most the fabricators in the market to the exhibition to showcase the products they have to offer. The company has exhibited in Manufacturing Indonesia series many times before, and the event this year is seems bigger than the previous years.
