FINAT has recently opened the 2015 FINAT Labelling Competition. Label converters can start selecting their entries. The deadline for the submission of entries is March 5, 2015.
In efforts to showcase the latest in self-adhesive label printing, the annual competition recognises and rewards achievements in end use/marketing impact and print and converting quality. The main segments, in which self-adhesive labels are used, are alcoholic beverages, food, household, industrial, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, security labels, (self-) promotion, and booklet/coupon labels, and for the major reel-fed print processes.

FINAT has added a fifth category, “Digital”, under Group E to acknowledge the role of digital printing in the modern label industry. Three categories cover the main digital printing technologies: solvent toner, dry toner, and inkjet.
The new category complements the other categories, namely marketing/end-uses, printing processes, non-adhesive applications, and innovation.
President Kurt Walker said the annual labelling competition has a three-fold objective. In addition to
highlighting the benefits of self-adhesive labels and related products as effective marketing, promotional, or identification tools, the competition encourages converters to expand their technical and quality boundaries, and promotes labels and labelling techniques on a worldwide scale.
“I invite all label converters to participate in this prestigious competition and to take advantage of the benefits it has to offer,” Mr Walker said.
The awards will be given during the annual congress, which will be held from June 11 to 13, 2015 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. The winners will be displayed at the congress and at Labelexpo Europe 2015.
The winning entries will then be included in the 2015 World Label Awards (WLA) Competition.
FINAT has changed the participation details and updated the entry form. For full details, go to the official competition leaflet or to the label competition homepage.
