First 'Carbon Footprint' project in Thailand

Source: Release Date:2010-09-17 336
CARTON systems company SIG Combibloc has taken part in the first 'Carbon Footprint' project launched in Thailand, to make companies more aware of how to manage their products so that they leave behind as small a carbon footprint as possible, to protect the climate. As part of the pilot project, 25 manufacturers in a wide range of industry sectors in Thailand were able to submit products for an analysis of their carbon footprint along the entire product lifecycle. SIG Combibloc, working with spear headers Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organisation (TGO) and the National Metal and Materials Technology Centre, submitted its small-format carton pack combiblocMini in three volumes (125, 200 and 250 ml) for environmental analysis with respect to its carbon footprint. This particular format is the most in-demand carton size in Thailand. Food manufacturers concerned about the issue can now readily use the carbon footprint information about combiblocMini if they choose to participate in the new TGO project to label products.
