Insight, expertise and seizing business opportunities in Asia’s nutraceutical sector at the free forum on 6th September at the AsiaWorld-Expo in Hong Kong

HONG KONG -- Vitafoods Asia will bring together a panel of leading experts in the fields of marketing, regulation, ingredients and finished products to debate key industry issues, in its first ever Discussion Forum covering the Asian market.

The free-to-attend Discussion Forum, which will be chaired by Simon Pettman from EAS, will provide unique insights into the challenges and opportunities relating to health claims regulations across Asia, including how regulatory frameworks will impact on the industry’s capacity to innovate.

Manufacturers and distributors will also be able to clarify specific regulatory requirements and voice concerns about key issues during a question and answer session with the expert panel. The Discussion Forum takes place at 15:00 on Thursday, 6 September – the second day of the Vitafoods Asia event.

“There is huge potential in the rapidly growing Asian nutraceuticals market – the Vitafoods Asia Discussion Forum will provide valuable insights that will enable companies to seize the incredible opportunities this sector offers,” said Chris Lee, Vitafoods Asia event director. “With the Discussion Forum, Vitafoods Asia is building on the success of last year’s debut by continuing to provide the latest thinking in the nutraceuticals industry.”

Mr Pettman co-founded the consultancy EAS, which specialises in food, health and nutritional products, in 1992. He has advised companies and governments on regulatory strategies and the development of food legislation for over 20 years.

Panellists joining Simon include Katrina Diamonon, a senior consumer insight analyst at Datamonitor Australia who has contributed to building and refining the company’s expertise in the Asia-Pacific region. Katrina will deliver a talk on the 10 trends to watch in consumer-driven packaging innovation, looking at the future direction of packaging information, design and formats for functional foods.

Dr. Raja B. Smarta, founder of Interlink, a leading strategy consultancy firm in India focused on the pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, healthcare and wellness sectors, will also join the panel.
