First virtual production assistant for extrusion line

MASTERMIND® is the first virtual production assistant that helps in the daily running of the extrusion line by automating many of the most time-consuming operations without the need for human intervention.

By directly typing on the HMI control panel of the COLINES® extrusion line, MASTERMIND® will enable all of these operations:

• Auto die mapping (no manual adjustment required)

• Automatic change of reel size without halting the extrusion line (available for ALLROLLEX® lines)

• Automatic change of reel net width without halting the extrusion line (available for POLYCAST® lines)

• Interfacing with MES Live Control (also made by COLINES®) for Big Data analysis and production monitoring

• Easy maintenance mode

Other smart features are under development and will be made available soon. 

Thanks to MASTERMIND®, the COLINES® extrusion line will benefit from:

• Completely touchless flat die: no more adjustment of the die bolts and no more operations on the die

• Outstanding reduction of the set-up and start up times of the extrusion line (with reference to stretch film production, 2sigma 1% is achieved in 180 seconds)

• Consistent production quality over time as managed by artificial intelligence

• User friendly: even less experienced operators can easily manage the system

• Higher flexibility and efficiency even when producing more technical and challenging films

• Higher level of safety since the operator is not required to physically work on the extrusion line

MASTERMIND® was unveiled last year during the K 2022 trade fair and presented its revolutionary features. MASTERMIND® virtual production assistant is now available to all COLINES® customers with upgraded extrusion lines and to customers who will be purchasing new extrusion lines.
