At ProPak Vietnam 2013, Flexco will introduce its all-in-one Novitool Aero Portable Splice Press, a fully integrated single unit that eliminates the need for additional external systems, such as water tanks and pumps. The lightweight press is fully automated, convenient and easy to use. The rapid heating and air-cooling system typically provides a 7-12 minute splice cycle, effectively reducing downtime. The tool allows for precise temperature control which improves the splice results of belts with asymmetric constructions or those with thin thermoplastic coatings.
The company will also highlight its Alligator Quick Fix Splice Kit. Designed for quick, easy, and low-cost installation of mechanical belt fasteners, every Quick Fix kit comes complete with the fasteners specified for the job, a coordinating hinge pin, and a setting tool. Installation is complete with just a hammer. This kit makes mechanical splices readily available for a range of applications, according to Jacob Glick, Light Duty product manager for Flexco. “Remote operations and smaller enterprises can install a durable splice in minutes.”
The colour-coded kits also come with simple-to-follow pictorial instructions, eliminating the issue of language barriers.
At the booth, Flexco representatives will demonstrate how the Alligator Spiral Lace and Alligator Plastic Rivet fastener systems can be installed onto existing conveyor belts. The Spiral Lace system is a low-profile splice that is fabricated into the belt using thermoplastic joining methods and is ideal for applications with metal detectors, food or pharmaceutical processing, and even delicate applications that involve products prone to scratching. The Alligator series of staple fastener systems will also be available for viewing.
The Plastic Rivet system, on the other hand, can be mechanically applied with a portable installation tool. This system produces a quiet splice, and it is non-scratching and non-magnetic. Visit Flexco at Booth A17.
