Fort Wayne Metals launches Velocity Custom

FORT Wayne Metals has announced its Velocity Custom service. Designed for rapid prototyping and validation orders, the service allows customers to significantly reduce the lead time for virtually any wire, strand, cable, or assembled component. 

 

Velocity Custom is the latest addition to the company’s Velocity program, which includes the Velocity kit and the Velocity braid. The Velocity kit contains preconfigured selections of cables or metal-on-metal composites. 

 

The Velocity portfolio enables the company to ship the most common braiding wire sizes in three business days or less. Orders placed through the program are run on regular production equipment.

 

Fort Wayne Metals president and CEO Mark Michael acknowledges the need for greater speed in today’s environment. 

 

“Many of our customers have significant burn rates, especially R&D companies that are trying to bring new products to market. So if we can significantly reduce their lead time, we can help them benefit financially and stay ahead of their competition,” Mr. Michael said.
