Fresenius conference tackles health and nutrition claims

DORTMUND, Germany - The European Commission in 2013 carried out changes and new regulations in the area of health and nutrition claims. To clarify legal requirements, guidance documents and clinical trials on this topic, Die Akademie Fresenius has organised the conference, Health & Nutrition Claims, scheduled from 13 - 14 May 2014 in Frankfurt/Germany.  

The conference, conducted in English, aims to provide an overview of recent jurisdiction in the field of health and nutrition claims, introduce the new European Commission regulation regarding generic descriptors, and to inform participants about trademarks and unspecific health claims, and mandatory information. It will offer a look at the worldwide regulation of health claims, to make clear to what extent the used claims are understood by consumers and will deal with national guidances. Likewise the participants of the conference will be informed about news regarding the substantiation of claims.

Amongst presentations at this conference are a case study about cocoa flavanols, the future of probiotics and the new EU research project CLYMBOL which is designed to clarify if health claims influence the buying behaviour of consumers.
