FrieslandCampina sells regional brands

 HEILBRONN, Germany - FrieslandCampina Germany GmbH said it has sold regional brands Mark Brandenburg and Milchreiter to ODW Frischprodukte, with effect from 1 September 2013. Mark Brandenburg is for milk, butter, yoghurt, quark and cheese products, whilst Milchreiter is for yoghurt.

After the sale, it will be focusing on its main brands, which include Landliebe, Optiwell and Tuffi.

ODW Frischprodukte had already acquired the Elsterwerda plant from FrieslandCampina in 2010. The Mark Brandenburg and Milchreiter brands are manufactured there. The company's product range is marketed primarily in Brandenburg and in Berlin.

FrieslandCampina and ODW Frischprodukte will continue their already close cooperation in matters of production. The sale, details of which are withheld, has been approved by the Federal Cartel Office.
