Plastics & Rubber

As the global economy shows signs of recovery in 2013, industrial production has started to expand. However, the world is still facing some threats -- shortage of energy and resources as well as serious environmental problems. To cope with these challenges, countries around the world  have  implemented their various strategies to protect  the environment. As an industrial powerhouse, China  has taken important steps to encourage a society with strong concern on environment protection, safety and sustainable industrial development.

As industrial production expands, the applications of plastics and rubber have been extended. Besides four key industries  – automotive, electronic&electrical appliances, packaging and building – plastics and rubber consumption in other application sectors such as medical, lighting, photovoltaic, textile, food, toy, clock and watch, glasses and shoes, and others is on the rise. The wider application of plastics and rubber materials not only reduces energy consumption in the process of manufacturing, but also makes recycling possible so as to assist the sustainable development of an economy.
