It is impossible to locate a wallet across the globe which does not have this plastic product. Its benefits are far more than its weight and its demand doesn’t seem to dwindle in the coming years.

FutureCard, an expert in the design, manufacture and customisation of all types of cards, from the basic plastic to the most advanced smartcards, has taken advantage of the opportunity this industry segment offers. Since 2002, the company has grown fast that it now has over 1,000 customers in 80 countries around the world. Speaking to International Plastics News – Middle East and Africa (IRNEA), AyhanYaslcintas, FutureCard’s CEO, explains why FutureCard has gained acceptance worldwide as a reliable supplier of card solutions and payment systems.

IRNEA: FutureCard offers a wide range of products for various customer needs. What are these?

Mr. Yaslcintas: FutureCard is an international player in the card manufacturing industry with a GCC- based manufacturing hub. We offer banking solutions (EMV, dual interface, personalisation, display cards, NFC cards) to government solutions (passport, driver’s license, ID cards, and transportation cards), telecom solutions (SIM memory, scratch and mobile chip cards) and commercial solutions (loyalty cards, access cards). Our range includes the most basic, fundamental cards all the way to the latest smartcards.

 

We deal with banks, financial institutions, telecom operators, governments, airlines, commercial bodies, gas stations, malls etc. Our banking solutions entail EMV, dual interface and personalisation solutions, our commercial solutions include loyalty cards for stores, airlines, gas stations and hotels, and our telecom solutions comprise of SIM cards, memory cards, scratch cards and mobile chip cards. On a government level, we offer passports, drivers’ licenses, ID and transportation cards. The company is environment conscious too and offers biodegradable cards as well.

As a result of our wide range of products, FutureCard sees a steady increase in revenue each year, which is now more than AED 100 million and an average of 75 million units sold each month.

IRNEA: In this sector, does the company provide other services?

Mr. Yaslcintas: FutureCard offers personalisation of cards in the form of graphics such as embossing, inkjet, thermal printing, photo printing and laser; security elements that covers magstripe, scratch PIN panel, barcode, etc. and chip personalisation entailing applet, data, keys in contact/contactless interfaces. We also provide carrier printing and personalisation, matching, folding, enveloping, pinmailer and packaging services. We can offer different shapes too such as mini card and plug.

IRNEA: How would you describe the journey of FutureCard into what it is today?

Mr. Yaslcintas: The company has been growing fast since 2002, with over 1,000 customers in 80 countries around the world. The production plant – equipped with the latest generation of machines and software – is conveniently based in Dubai, one of the world’s largest transportation hubs, making all destinations easily accessible.
