GanedenBC30 boosts protein utilisation

GANEDEN Biotech’s GanedenBC30 delivers multiple health benefits when taken in combination with protein, according to a recent pilot study conducted by the University of Tampa.

Preliminary results show consuming the patented probiotic strain GanedenBC30 (Bacillus coagulans GBI-30, 6086) with just 20g of protein could boost power whilst lowering recovery time, soreness, swelling, and blood kinase. The findings provide useful data for food, beverage, and sports nutrition companies targeting consumers with an active lifestyle or those looking for protein-enriched products.

According to Ganeden Biotech vice president for Scientific Operations David Keller, earlier studies supported digestive and immune health and indicated the positive effect of concomitant consumption of protein.

Mr Keller added, “We are very excited and encouraged by the results of this small pilot. Data from a larger study designed for publication in a peer-reviewed journal should be available in Q2 of 2015.”
