German brewer taps into alcohol-free market

BRAUEREI Rothaus, one of the largest independent breweries in Germany, has finalized its order for a Spinning Cone Column (SCC) solution from Alfa Laval. Flavourtech Ltd. developed the SCC technology and Alfa Laval has been given exclusive rights for sales and promotion within the brewery applications. The latest order from Brauerei Rothaus is the first in Germany, and was finalized at the recent drinktec in Munich. The brewery produces about 950,000 hl of beer annually, and has recently tested solutions for making alcohol-free beer owing to an increasing market demand for such beer type. The Baden-W黵ttemberg brewery has now launched a new alcohol-free pilsner and Weizenbeer on the German market.
