Gerresheimer opens technical center in China

PHARMA and healthcare packaging group, Gerresheimer AG, has opened a new development center for medical plastic systems in Dongguan, China, to offer customers in Asia crucial added value. This is the third such center for Gerresheimer, after Wackersdorf (Germany) and Peachtree City (Georgia, USA).

Gerresheimer development centers prepare medical plastic systems such as insulin pens, inhalers, lancets and auto-injectors for industrialization.

In Dongguan, the new Technical Competence Center (TCC) will be implementing and managing large-scale projects independently. The local projects implemented at the development Centers in collaboration with the other sites include series design, manufacturing equipment engineering, process development, project management, quality planning, tool making, automation technology, production initiation and pre-series production.

“The new center in China ensures that we can optimally meet the growing demand in the Asian market. In future, we will have development operations in addition to local production operations and we’ll be collaborating closely with our customers in China,“ explained Andreas Schütte, the Gerresheimer Management Board member with responsibility for Plastics & Devices.
