AMID inadequate cocoa harvest in Ghana, the country’s cocoa regulator, Cocobod signed loans with several international banks to purchase 850,000 tonnes. This amount of cocoa will be use for 2015/16 season, according to CNBC Africa.
Ghana is the second-largest global supplier of cocoa, but it is missing its output target this year owing to adverse weather and poor agricultural practices. Production is down by 23% as compred to the previous year. Read the report.
