Givaudan active ingredient wins gold at In-Cosmetics Korea 2023 Awards

Givaudan received the Best Ingredient Award 2023 (active ingredient) at the In-Cosmetics Korea 2023 Awards. The company won for its PrimalHyal™ Hydra[+], a hyaluronic acid with long-lasting efficacy.

Givaudan Active Beauty describes this cosmetic active as a cationic hyaluronic acid (HA) crafted by white biotechnology, and outperforms standard HA hydration benefits by at least a factor of 2, to provide a never-before-seen moisturising efficacy to both rinse-off and leave-on applications. 

Most beauty products now contain hyaluronic acid, a hero ingredient that manufacturers of skin care, hair care, body care, and make-up add to their formulations to increase hydrating properties.

According to Givaudan, in clinical tests versus placebo, in different application formats (shower gel, lotion, sheet masks), PrimalHyal™ Hydra[+] at only 0.1% is able to: 

• Provide instant skin hydration in just one application, both in rinse-off and leave-on applications

• Bring long-term skin hydration with prolonged use

• Reinforce skin barrier function by increasing lipid and protein production

• Maintain hydration benefits for up to 4 days
