Glatfelter names Christopher W. Astley to head airlaid unit

CHRISTOPHER W. Astley has recently been promoted to senior vice president and Business Unit president of Glatfelter (NYSE: GLT) Advanced Airlaid Materials (AMBU). He will have overall P&L responsibility and will lead the development and implementation of strategic and tactical plans for the business. He will succeed Jonathan Bourget, who will be leaving the company after assisting in a transition period. 

 

Mr. Astley, who holds a Masters in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Richmond, was previously the senior vice president for Corporate Strategy at Glatfelter. He served in various consulting roles for more than 15 years in the pulp, paper, and packaging industries before joining Glatfelter. He worked in the strategic services practice of Accenture and supported long-term strategy development in the North American business unit of Coca-Cola. He also led a privately held firm engaged in the commercial construction industry.
