Better weather conditions have given tea producers in Sri Lanka a chance to increase their output this year. The trend may continue into the next quarter. In March the country’s output was at 32.1 mkgs, an improvement of 3.2mkg over the same month in 2012.Yields in April and May are expected to be much higher.
Sri Lanka, the second largest tea producer, next to Kenya, exports to the Middle East, the UK and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).
