HONG KONG -- The Vinexpo 2012 ended with great success in end of May achieving a record number of visitors and exhibitors over 15,000. Being the host hotel of this internationally recognised event, Grand Hyatt Hong Kong has also broken two of its own records. The first one was the hosting capacity of the Grand Ballroom within which during the Commanderie du Bontemps gala dinner 860 guests were served. The second record broken was the number of wine glasses used in a single event. At the Jurade de Saint-Emilion gala dinner, 6,600 wine glasses were used.
On 29 May, the Commanderie du Bontemps gala event hosted 860 guests and a six-course Western dinner was served. A total of 72 tables were set in the Grand Ballroom, the foyer and the grand rooms. Guests were impressed by the cosy grand set up and were stunned with the impeccable service though space was tight for the service team.
On 28 May, the Jurade de Saint-Emilion gala event hosted a five-course western dinner for 600 guests across 41 tables. Guests were served 11 different wines, with a total of
6,600 wine glasses used (plus another 600 Champagne flutes used during the cocktail). Guests were thrilled to experience perfect service throughout the evening.
Together with the Ordre des Coteaux de Champagne gala dinner on 27 May, which hosted 340 guests and 13 different Champagens were presented, three evenings in a row – the three most prominent gala events of the Vinexpo – presented a crescendo of events with each gala dinner more breathtaking than the previous one.
