Gravimetric feeder provides user-friendly innovations

Improved capacities for Maguire's MGF gravimetric equipment for feeding colorants and additives into plastics processing machines cover multi-lingual operator access and full data retrieval as standard features for all moulding and extrusion applications, including a new "extrusion following" option, according to Maguire Asia. The feeder is now globally available with language variations including Czech, English, French, German, Italian, Polish and Spanish "The optional extrusion following system initially anticipates and checks gross variations in extruder rate like changes of film rolls," said Hubert Nerlich, managing director, Maguire Asia. "The minimal added cost of the extrusion following option helps film manufacturers and other extrusion processors to get the accuracy of a Maguire MGF gravimetric feeder while preventing productivity losses that happen when colour metering does not keep pace with ramp-ups in line speed," added Nerlich. "The overall investment is still comparable to that for conventional volumetric feeders and 25% to 35% less than for competing gravimetric systems," he noted.
