Grease-free moulds

TWO minutes less of weekly maintenance per mould: that's what Sidel has accomplished with "Kohlox", its new, self-lubricating composite material for studs and wear rings, simply by eliminating the greasing step. Developed after two years of R&D, this thermo composite material with a low coefficient of friction is the best compromise between mechanical resistance to impacts and compression, whilst also ensuring free movement of parts. Two new grease-free parts have been produced for the moulds: wear rings for the meld bottoms, and female studs. Reducing maintenance time means improving blow milder availability and therefore productivity. This technology is available as an option for most new moulds and can also be adapted to several existing moulds for all types of Sidel blow moulders.
