THE DEBUT of Gulfood Manufacturing marked a new regional platform, welcoming thousands of suppliers, manufacturers, and product and service providers from across the globe to highlight the immense growth potential the region’s food and beverage industry holds. As a one-stop-shop event for ingredients, innovative technologies, packaging equipment, logistics, warehousing and cold chain, the new event empowers food processing companies in the Middle East, Africa and South East Asia (MEASA), providing them with solutions to beef up or replace their operations toward safer, more cost-effective, and higher quality products.
Held from 9-11 November, Gulfood Manufacturing proved to be the largest, most dedicated F&B related event in the MEASA region, featuring a three-day holistic exhibition covering summits, conferences and programmes to enhance not only the regional but the global food production industry. The exhibition was inaugurated by H.H Shaikha Lubna Al Qasimi, Minister of Development and International Cooperation.
“The opening day of Gulfood Manufacturing has underlined the intense international demand for a dedicated sector-specific platform to serve the region’s developing food processing and manufacturing sphere,” said Trixie LohMirmand, senior vice-president of the events and exhibitions department at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
Gulfood Manufacturing held 26 official country pavilions and introduced for the first time, the largest ever Hosted Buyer Programme, designed particularly to highlight the region’s growing F&B infrastructure to entice global players. It also hosted the Food and Beverage Industrial Investment Summit, which brought together global investors and MNCs to explore and potentially tap the market, economic and production capacities and opportunities across the region.
The Specialty Food Festival, Seafex and Sweet and Snacks Middle East, also opened their doors on the 9th of November at Dubai World Trade Centre.
The next Gulfood Manufacturing event will take place from 27-29 October 2015, at the Dubai World Trade Center.
