Hanovia is to preview a new energy efficient UV disinfection system for water treatment applications at drinktec 2017. The industry’s largest conference and exhibition will provide the first opportunity to speak to the Hanovia sales and support team about a new low-pressure UV system, which has been designed to reduce energy consumption, simplify servicing and maximise process uptime. Visitors to the Hanovia booth will also receive expert advice on implementing UV systems and learn how companies such as Cott Beverages are achieving effective microbial disinfection whilst using less chemical additives and preservatives.
The Hanovia team will also be demonstrating its PureLine Ultraviolet Energy Optimised (UVEO) water treatment system, which has been designed specifically for applications within the food and beverage industry. The PureLine UVEO is suitable for high flow rates just using a single medium pressure lamp, which is designed to consume less power than conventional UV systems. The system takes advantage of an optimised hydraulic design to deliver a guaranteed, consistent UV dose with reduced energy and running costs. The intelligent control is capable of monitoring flow and UVT readings to adjust the system power and deliver the required dose. In applications with high flow rates the PureLine UVEO excels because it is a powerful UV system that can provide effective treatment using a single lamp. This creates savings in terms of energy consumption, consumables and space when compared with a multi-lamp system or the use of two systems in series.

“Hanovia has been developing application-optimised UV technology for over 90 years and with the energy efficient PureLine UVEO and new low-pressure system we continue to produce advancements that better service our customers in the food and beverage market,” explained Matthias Boeker, Hanovia EMEA Sales Manager. “Visitors to the Hanovia booth will discover how application-optimised UV systems are helping companies such as Cott Beverages in the UK, Nongfu bottled water in China, the HITE brewery in South Korea and Dairy Plus in Thailand to keep production processes free from microbial contamination, ensuring a high quality, pure final product.”
Helping those aiming to enhance their biosecurity, Hanovia experts will be available to provide advice on the use of UV systems to ensure water quality within food and beverage applications. Visitors to the Hanovia booth (242, hall C1) will be able to get information on the benefits provided by UV disinfection systems, discover the latest UV innovations and take advice on selection and installation best practices.
“It’s very important to correctly specify a UV system to ensure effective coverage and optimised treatment,” explained Boeker. “We aim to use the event to offer expert advice about selecting and maintaining their UV disinfection systems. With a global network, Hanovia’s UVCare™ team offers unrivalled aftercare services, workings closely with customers to not only select the right system, but to then ensure it continues to operate efficiently throughout its full lifecycle.”
Demonstrating the breadth of Hanovia’s installed base, visitors to the booth will be able to select from a broad range of drinks that have had their final product security provided by Hanovia’s UV.
