HARTING: 25th Anniversary in Hong Kong, 15th Anniversary in China

In 1988, the family owned and managed company headquartered in Espelkamp founded its subsidiary HARTING (HK) Limited as Asia headquarters to support business operations in all Asia countries.  HARTING entered the Chinese market since 1980s and established the first production plant in Zhuhai.

Nowadays HARTING China has become the highest sales revenue subsidiary outside Europe. Mr Philip F. W. Harting, Senior Vice President Connectivity & Networks, HARTING Führungs AG committed in the ceremony that “We are extending our commitment in China even further and stand shoulder to shoulder with you as a partner whom you can trust. We are looking forward to being able to learn even more from the entrepreneurial spirit, economic policy and commitment of this country over the next few years. One of the honorable guests of the ceremony, Mr. Stefan Gallon, Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Guangzhou also recognized the remarkable achievement and he stated that “Even China and Germany may be very different in many ways, there are many things we do have in common.  Our profound enthusiasm for top-of-the-art-engineering, like we are celebrating today, is certainly one of them.”

Not only concentrated on business development, HARTING places great emphasis on environmental protection, employee safety and China community. Another honorable guest, Mr Liu Xiao Long, Executive Vice Mayor of Zhuhai, also appreciated HARTING’s contribution and realized HARTING (Zhuhai) Manufacturing is one of the benchmark technology companies in Zhuhai.

HARTING has mainly focused on the factory automation, transportation, renewable energy, power transmission and machinery markets. HARTING is proud to be the first global connector manufacturer in the China market awarded the China Compulsory Certification (CCC). 

HARTING has been expanding rapidly its sales network in China over the past years and operates now in Hong Kong, Zhuhai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Xiamen, Changsha, Wuhan, Hangzhou, Shanghai, Suzhou, Nanjing, Chengdu, Xian, Zhengzhou, Qingdao, Tianjin, Beijing, Shenyang, Changchun and Taipei. 

The current Zhuhai manufacturing site, with an initial investment of more than
16 million USD, is the supply chain, logistics, training, research and development center for Asia. Production in Zhuhai started with simple assembly and now covers full line production of connector′s hoods and housings, backplane connectors, backplane designs and solutions. HARTING Zhuhai manufactures a wide range of products with the latest technology in die casting, zinc casting, injection molding, CNC tapping and milling, surface coating, SMT and automatic assembly machines. HARTING Zhuhai supplies and serves customers with mezzanine connectors, micro card edge connectors, D-Sub connectors, mini coax connectors, industrial cable assemblies, telecom and medical cable assemblies, wire harnesses, heavy duty connectors, backplanes, solenoid. The certified research and development center can provide local product management for customer specific product design-in and can contribute to an increased number of local key projects.
