Healthy eating for seniors: New Omega-3 supplement

GOLDEN agers don’t necessarily have to skip on meat and poultry, but they do have watch the amount. Of course vitamins and supplements are part of the diet. For mental health, it is said the Omega-3 fatty acids are beneficial for alertness and reducing the risk of Alzheimer’s disease.

Recently, FMC Health & Nutrition, which is known for the Epax brand of concentrated marine Omega-3 fatty acids, introduced the EPAX 4535 TGN, an addition to its Epax Ultra concentrate portfolio of even higher EPA/DHA concentrations.

The product launched at SupplySide West in Las Vegas held from 5–9 October this year, is a pharmaceutical-strength ingredient suitable for premium supplement brands, with more than 80% EPA and DHA fatty acids. With ultra-high concentrate it enables a higher dosage EPA/DHA supplement in a convenient serving size for the consumer and demonstrates FMC’s commitment to growing the Omega-3 category.

In a press release, Ravi Annavarapu, Global Platform Manager, Nutraceuticals and Natural Colors, said: “To our knowledge, the new EPAX 4535 TGN is the highest concentration of EPA and DHA in a 90% triglyceride oil available on the market, further cementing FMC’s Epax brand as a leader in the Omega-3 industry.”

The EPAX 4535 TGN is also Friend Of the Sea and IFFO-RS certified for sustainable and responsible manufacturing practices.
