A NEW website from Cargill – www.childhood-nutrition.com – provides resources for manufacturers and foodservice operators facing formulation. Thisinitiative is intended to help food and beverage makers improve the nutritional profiles of products for kids, especially those in the United States where obesity rates among children and teenagers have tripled in the past 30 years.
Cargill’s Food Ingredients & Systems businesses will focus resources to help customers develop formulations with less trans and saturated fat, sugar and sodium, and more whole grains, fibre and protein. The website was designed to connect food makers with updates on nutrition news, government policy, stakeholder actions, and consumer trends shaping the rapidly changing landscape surrounding childhood nutrition.
