Hershey has new R&D hub in Shanghai

WITH CHINA as its fastest growth market, the Hershey Company opened the Asia Innovation Center to handle the development, testing and launching of new products. Located at the Jinqiao Golden Bridge Research Park in the Pudong district, the 22,000-square-foot facility will house R&D laboratories, a pilot plant for the chocolate and sweets & refreshment categories, and a development centre for emerging product offerings.  It will accommodate a sensory area, creativity centre, and packaging development section. The workforce will initially include 12 scientists and 32 engineers led by Qingbin Yuan, Hershey’s director of Asia Research & Development.
