Hexagon Metrology in collaboration with Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers' Association (IMTMA) has been organizing training courses and workshops to promote exchange between manufacturers, users and experts in the field of metrology and publishing new findings and trends from the field at a global level. This collaboration is a step towards Hexagon Metrology’s commitment to providing wide range of products to the industry that can help customers improve quality and production efficiency in their plants around the world. To stay ahead of competition, the company understands the need to adapt to the changing needs of the highly specialized metrology industry and continuously engage and reinvent its extremely skilled professionals.
Recently, Hexagon Metrology and IMTMA organized a comprehensive course with hands-on training in Effective use of Co-ordinate Measuring Machines from 10 - 14 June 2013 at IMTMA Technology Centre, Bangalore. The purpose of this training course was to deliver world-class training to metrology professionals and help them hone and expand their practical dimensional metrology skills, resulting in increased productivity and improved competitiveness.
The course covered all the aspects a practicing CMM engineer requires to know for effective use of CMM for reliable measurement results. Further, this course aimed to benefit Managers, practicing Engineers and Supervisory personnel responsible for obtaining the best output from Co-ordinate Measuring Machines. The only pre-requisite was that the participants should have basic operational knowledge of Co-ordinate Measuring Machines and be able to read engineering drawings. The training was led by experienced, industry-leading professionals from IMTMA who trained the participants on Hexagon Metrology’s PC-DMIS? software and ‘Explorer 575’ Coordinate Measuring Machine. Further, they emphasized on solving day-to-day business problems, discussing case studies and training in CMM with live measurement exercises of industry components.
Metrology training programs are quickly becoming an essential building block for a smarter, more dynamic group of next-generation metrology professionals. And with today's economic climate, fresh ideas and a smarter workforce are good solutions for today, tomorrow and beyond. At Hexagon Metrology, we are doing just that.
