HHI features four robots at IAS 2013 show

For the IAS exhibition, Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. Ltd exhibits four types of robots including HA006, HP160, HS165and HS200, belonging to the Hi5 series controller, the four robots are already out in the China market, said Jang Hyung Seok, vice president of the company.

Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. Ltd (HHI) produces multi-joint industrial robot and flat panel display industry-specific robots.

“For the IAS exhibition, we exhibit four types of robots including HA006, HP160, HS165and HS200, belonging to the Hi5 series controller, the four robots are already out in the China market,” said Jang Hyung Seok, vice president of the company.

The HA006 can be used for arc welding, gluing and small work piece handling. In this show, the HA006 will be in the demo of an arc welding with positioner.

The four axes HP160 has 160kg payload for palletizing/destacking. It has the advantaged of fast speed and wide working range. This will be displayed in a palletizing process with conveyor system

In addition, the HS165 and HS200 have a payload of 165 kg and 200 kg, respectively.

“At present, there is not much domestic production for robot parts in China, and the localization of core components is very important. A robot is usually used between 10-15 years, so the requirement of quality and durability should be higher; we need relevant companies to increase product development efforts, varieties and pay more attention to quality,” said Jang Hyung Seok.

China is a very important market for HHI. Now, HHI has branch offices in Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou for the promotion of products and to provide after-sales service.

It is HHI first time to exhibit in the show. “We know a lot of robot manufacturers and system integrators are attending IAS. I hope this exhibition will be useful to our future business,” said Jang Hyung Seok.
